Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer from Zvartnots International Airport to Aghveran Resort. Hotel accommodation in Best Western Aghveran Hotel, rest, dinner.
Day in Aghveran.
After Breakfast at the hotel we will bike via mountainous way towards Lori Region and passing Meghradzor village we will climb to the top of mountain, where we will have lunch. After lunch we will take our way down to the Margahovit village passing beautiful mountainous natural sites. Reaching Margahovit village we will board minibus to continue our way towards Vanadzor, where we will have dinner and stay for overnight in Tezh Ler hotel.
After Breakfast at the hotel we will take minibus to the old Pushkin Pass, from where we will continue our way on bikes towards Stepanavan Dendropark, which is one of the most remarkable natural zones in Armenia. This area will make us feel like in a fairy tale with its fabulous nature, fresh air, and birds’ songs. After having lunch, we will continue our way through Kurtan village along Dzoraget river to the connection of Debed River canyon surrounded by the mountainous beautiful natural and historical sites. Here we will stop at the hotel Tufenkyan Dzoraget for dinner and overnight.
After Breakfast we will take minibus to Atan village from where we will continue our way on the bikes towards adjacent Zikatar Sanctuary, which is represented by species, various types of relief and corresponding rich plant diversity characteristic for the Caucasus broad-leave forests. Having lunch on the way, we will continue our way through forest route to the gorge of Koghb River and on the way having natural mineral water called “TTU Water” we will reach the Zikatar hotel surrounded by the rich flora where we will have dinner specific to the northern Armenian kitchen and stay for overnight.
After the breakfast at the hotel we will take minibus to Acharkut village, from where we will continue our way on the bikes through Kirants-Samson Gorge consisted of hilly slopes covered with broad-leaf forests interspersed with open glades of various types and rock outcrops in the upper and wider parts of the gorge. On the way we will see two magic monasteries: the first is Arakelots Monastery built in the XII - XIII centuries on the left bank of the River Kirants and lies on the top of a thickly wooded eminence. The second is Deghdznut Monastery built in XII - XIII centuries and located nearby Kirants village, in the middle of a forest. Having lunch on the bank of Kirants River we will continue our way towards Yenokavan village surrounded by mountainous forests of Ijevan State Sanctuary. Reaching Yenokavan we will stop at the Gomer hotel for dinner and overnight.
After the breakfast at the hotel we will take minibus to towards Dilijan National Park, located on the upstream pool of Aghstev river, and surrounded by the Lesser Caucasus mountains. On the way we will see Goshavank Monastery built in XII century. Reaching Dprabak village, we will continue our way on the bikes through dense forest towards Lake Sevan. Passing several villages and having lunch on the way we will gradually climb up approximately 1900 m above the sea. Enjoying surrounding fabulous nature we will reach Lake Sevan, which is the largest lake in Caucasus as well as one of the largest, and highest freshwater lakes of the world located on 1897m above sea level, depth is 90m, an area-1260km square, lengh-70km, width-55km and the volume is 58billion cubic meters. In summer, the middle temperature of lake surface is 18-23 degrees above zero, which is very convenient for swimming. After reaching the shore of Lake Sevan we will visit Sevanavank monastery located on the top of Sevan Peninsula and built in 305 A.C. by the daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni Mariam and during the 9th century became the royal citadel of the Armenian Kings. Then we will take our minibus and continue our way to Yerevan. After accommodation in Ani hotel and short rest we will have Farewell Dinner in one of the nice restaurants in the center of Yerevan, tasting Armenian kitchen and enjoying Armenian music. After dinner we will embark on an evening tour of Yerevan city that includes walking through nice Northern prospect towards the Republic Square, where we can enjoy the Large Dancing Water Fountains.
