Golden apricot is an annual international film festival. The creators of this festival were sure that the country where cinematography has a connection with such names as Sergey Parajanov and Artavazd Peleshian, needed its own International film festival. Harutyun Khachatryan, Festival General Director started the festival in 2004 in Yerevan.
Last year in 2017 Golden Apricot Film Festival started with the genius film “Khash-Push” by genius Armenian filmmaker Hamo Beknazaryan. And the closing film was “Intent to Destroy” by Joe Berlinger. The films were performed at all the cinemas in Yerevan.
2018 Yerevan International Film Festival is going to take place from July 8 to 15, 2018. This year the theme of the festival is “Crossroads of Cultures and Civilizations”. There will be awards for the International Feature competition and International Documentary competition.
The winner of the International Feature competition will get:
“Golden Apricot” | Best Feature Film | 2 million AMD
“Silver Apricot” | Special Prize
International Documentary competition winner will get:
“Golden Apricot” | Best Documentary Film | 1 million AMD
“Silver Apricot” | Special Prize
The deadline for pre-election submission was April 15, 2018. You can not submit later than this date. So you are late to submit, try it the next year. Have a look at the submission rules in the official website of Golden Apricot International Film Festival.
