6. Mount Ararat

Mount Ararat, images of which are found everywhere - from the coat of arms of Armenia to the clothing of the country's national football team, is one of the most recognizable symbols of Armenian culture.

This is the place on which, according to the Bible, Noah's Ark landed. The double top of Mount Ararat is an integral part of everything Armenian. The mountain consists of two mountains merged by the bases: Masis and Sis, which are also called Big and Small Ararat.

7. Pomegranate

The symbol of fertility, prosperity and good luck, possessing the unique taste of pomegranate is used as a sign of Armenian culture everywhere - from handicrafts to works of art.

The colour of the pomegranate resembles blood and vitality, and the grains are a symbol of procreation. The symbolism of a pomegranate is due, firstly, to its colour, and secondly, to its shape, and thirdly, its internal structure, which embodies the principle of unity and integrity.

In recent decades, the grenade is considered to be a symbol of the Armenian diaspora scattered throughout the world. Also, let’s not forget about the film of the famous director Sergei Parajanov “Sayat-Nova” about the great Armenian poet: it was called “The colour of the Pomegranate”, emphasizing the most symbolic concept for Armenians.

8. Cognac

Cognac production in Armenia was founded in 1887 by the first guild merchant Nerses Tairyan. On the territory of the former Erivan fortress, he built the first wine and vodka factory. Brandy production has become the most advanced sector of the Armenian economy.

9. Apricot

Apricot - is another symbol of Armenia. This fruit was selected by Armenian farmers long before our era, then the merchants brought it to Rome, where it became widespread and continued its journey through the countries of Europe.

The apricot tree serves as a source of wood for the most beloved and famous Armenian musical instrument called duduk. If you did not know, then the orange colour on the national flag of Armenia symbolizes apricot.

10. Duduk
