Christians celebrate Easter two days after Good Friday, the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In Armenia, people go to church, lent, paint eggs, fight with the eggs, gather together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This year (2018) Easter is celebrated on the 1st of April.
Easter is a Christian holiday, the greatest holiday in the Christian world. Christians celebrate Easter, as it was unbelievable that Jesus Christ died and resurrected. Jesus died because of our sins and resurrected to protect as from devil. We celebrate it to thank Him for his sacrifice.

Being the first Christian country, Armenian Easter traditions are unique. Armenian women bake a cake. People paint boiled eggs especially in red color, which symbolizes the color of Jesus' blood. Armenian children fight with the eggs. People also lent before Easter.
