The Arutch monastery complex is situated at the outside part of the rock in the western foot of the mountain Aragatz (Aragatzotn district).
The Arutch temple (St. Grigor church) is one of the most remarkable attractions, monument of Armenian architecture.
It was built by Grigor Mamikonyan approximately in 660 y. There is constructed a palace also by Grigor Mamikonyan.
