Armenian Summer Adventure
Jeep tour in Armenia for the whole family
Arrival at the International Airport in Yerevan, transfer to the Hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel we will drive to Kotayk region. Before we get to Garni village we will take off-road way through the Canyon of Garni, stretching along the rivers Azat and Goght. We will continue our trip through the Canyon, enjoying magnificent, seemingly artificial slopes from the foot to the top of the gorge named "Symphony of Stones". Climbing up from the canyon to the village, we will take our way to Garni Temple, built in the second half of the 1st century A.D. and dedicated to the God Mitra, the God of the Sun. After Christianity the temple was used as a summer residence of Armenian Kings and was described as ‘‘A House of Coolness‘‘. After excursion in the temple we will have delicious lunch in Garni village and will be back to Yerevan. In Yerevan we could visit and spend our time in entertainment center Play city, having carting, bowling, paintball and other attractions. Overnight in Yerevan.
After breakfast at the hotel and check out, we will take our direction to the North to the highest mountain of Armenia Aragats (4090 m) and taking off-road way through the nice gorge we will climb up to Amberd Fortress, which is a midcentury fort-city built during the X century. We will enjoy the landscape surrounding the fortress and alpine flowers on the wings of Aragats. Then we will continue our driving to Lake Kari located at the altitude of 3207 m. above sea level, where we will have a picnic lunch. After the lunch we will drive down and visit the Armenian Alphabet Park and will learn the history of creation of Armenian scripts. Leaving the park we will drive to the mountainous resort town Dilijan.
After breakfast at the hotel we will make short city tour in Dilijan, located in the dense forest of Dilijan National Park. Then we will drive to mountainous village Yenokavan, where we will visit Yell Extreme Park for entertainment. In the Park there are several activities that we can choose, such as zip line, rope park, paragliding or horse riding, as well as hiking to the fantasy world of Lastiver and Anapat surrounded with virgin forests, rivers and waterfalls. After adventurous day we will drive back to our hotel for a rest and for the new feats. Overnight in Dilijan.
After breakfast at the hotel we will drive through a narrow mountainous rode to Kalavan village, where we will meet an archeologist who will tell us about scientific excavations of Stone Age human settlements in the area of the village. We will visit replica site of such a settlement in the dense oak forest and will see how those humans lived those time, will tried out our skill at archery, will learn fishing in the river. Here we will have a lunch as well, and after it we will take an off- road way and drive from Kalavan village to Tsovagyugh village through Areguni mountain ridge. Connecting with the main road we will continue our way towards Lake Sevan, which is the largest lake in Caucasus as well as one of the largest, and highest freshwater lakes of the world. It is located on 1900m above sea level. Overnight in Sevan.
After breakfast at the hotel we will meet the marine adventures. Except swimming in the lake we can take windsurfing classes, to do jet skiing, fishing or make a boat trip. After the lunch at the shore of the lake we will continue our way along the Lake Sevan to the South towards Selim Pass located at the altitude of 2410m. above sea level, following the historical Silk Road and visiting on the way Caravanserai built in 1331. Here we will make a halt to feel the atmosphere of those merchants stopping at this spot hundred years ago. We will admire breathtaking view of the valley and surroundings from the top and will continue our way to town Sisian. After check in at the hotel and dinner and darkfall we will visit one of the most ancient megalithic constructions of the world, called Zorats Karer (Karahunj). The two-meter pointed blocks last precisely from the south to the north, fencing large territory, in the center they form a correct circle. There is a hypothesis among scientists, that Zorats Karer is an observatory built in VI mil. B.C. Scientists have found similar constructions in many areas of Europe. The most known of them is the Stonehenge (II mil. B.C.). Overnight in Sisian.
After breakfast at the hotel we will take our way to Tatev Monastery Complex built in 895-906, which is one of the most important Education and Religion Centers situated in medieval Syunik region and is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way we will take Tatev Wings ropeway, which is the longest two-way ropeway of the world and flies above deep Vorotan gorge opening breath-taking views of the Vorotan Canyon. During the XIV and XV centuries it was famous for its university. Leaving Tatev Monastery we will have lunch on the way and will continue our way to Old Khndzoresk village, where we can visit the canyon of ancient cave residences. Old Khndzoresk village with its cave residencies was one of the centers in Syunik region for national liberation struggle of our people against Persian and Turkish invaders during XVII-XVIII centuries. Then we will be back to our hotel in Sisian.Overnight in Sisian.
After breakfast at the hotel we will take our way to the North to Areni village, where we will visit the famous Areni 1 Cave (Bird’s Cave), where the oldest leather shoe (5500 years old) and oldest winery (6000 years old) in the world have been found by an international group of local and foreign archeologists. Then we will have a delicious and traditional Armenian meal in a villager’s house in Areni village. After the lunch we will continue our way to Yerevan through Ararat Valley, on the way Enjoying the view of Biblical Monutain Ararat. According to the time transfer to the Airport.
